Zeltiq Coolsculpting was recently featured (27 October 2011) in Singapore’s national newspaper The Straits Times health segment called “Mind Your Body”. In it, the article talks about how many more patients are turning to Coolsculpting as a non-invasive form of treatment to fight unwanted flab. The writer also personally underwent the procedure and found it to be highly comfortable and tolerable with no unpleasant side effects.
Using a unique applicator device with a protective gel pad, Coolsculpting cools skin and surrounding structures, namely the fat cells down to near-zero degrees celcius. This process is known scientifically as Cryolipolysis, which literally means to freeze the fat cells to the point of destruction. The result: crystallization of fat cells leading to fat cell death. Over the next few months, the body quietly clears up the unwanted fat cells, leading to a slimming effect over the treated areas. Painlessly, safely and evenly. It is recommended to treat the area between one to three times, depending on requirement and amount of fatty tissue at baseline.
Zeltiq Coolsculpting remains the only non-invasive fat reduction treatment device that is approved by the US FDA for fat clearance. Other devices such as Ultrashape, Accent Ultra are CE marked in Europe but do not have US FDA approval at present.
