Plasma

Plasma Skin Renew, Micropeel, Perfection — we have the Ideal Plasma Treatment just for you.

How does Plasma work?

This treatment utilises plasma energy, also known as the 4th state of matter, in highly precise, controlled pulses to cause uniform, rapid heating of tissue that stimulates a significant physiological response without creating an open wound. Between the Zone of Thermal Damage (ZTD) and the Zone of Thermal Modification (ZTM) is where neocollagenesis and neoelastogenesis take place, with a depth that correlates to the adjustable level of energy delivered as pre-determined by the operator.

This fully customisable system offers great versatility by allowing high, moderate or low energy treatment choices, tailored to suit the specific needs and lifestyle of each patient. At lower energy levels, the technology works well on wrinkles, fine lines, pore size, stretch marks and even Actinic Keratoses, a form of pre-cancerous skin lesions. At higher energy levels, the skin rejuvenating and tightening prowess of Plasma is more pronounced, improving the appearance of photo-damaged skin, acne scarring and deeper wrinkles.

What conditions can Plasma treat?

If you have mild to moderate droopy eyelids, loose, baggy skin under the eyes, or pigmentation, acne scar concerns, the range of Plasma solutions could help to improve the condition without surgery. Plasma could also improve skin tone for that radiant glow.

Very often, the upper eyelid skin droops down with age, and bedroom eyes are no longer sexy when they are a tad too heavy! The levator muscle is responsible for lifting the eyelid, and as you age, that muscle can stretch and, as a result, cause the eyelid to fall. Coupled with the loss of elasticity of the surrounding skin around the eyes, you’ll be cursed by a tired-looking, droopy gaze 24/7. The Plasma Eyelift engages cutting-edge nitrogen plasma technology to tighten and lift the eyelids and undereye area.

With completely customisable settings, it delivers precise, controlled pulses of energy which create uniform tissue heating at a depth which stimulates the remodelling and regeneration of collagen. Plasma provides exceptional all-around peri-orbital rejuvenation to our ageing peepers, tackling droopy eyelids, dark eye circles, fine under-eye lines and pesky Crow’s Feet. With its high safety margin without any risk of injury to the eyes, it can be applied directly to the upper and lower eyelids, as well as the wider periorbital region — areas that are often difficult to treat, as other technologies failed to deliver consistent results or cannot be safely applied to treat these sensitive areas effectively. Unlike traditional ablative technologies, it does not cause vaporisation or charring of the skin. With the intact skin acting as a natural barrier, this unique treatment profile of Plasma allows the photo-damaged layers to undergo controlled thermal modification to promote rapid healing. Combined with a well-curated post-treatment skincare regime, there cannot be a more superior dressing for the skin than your own skin cells.

What options are available?

Plasma Micropeel

The Plasma Micropeel can be done either as a standalone treatment or paired with the Plasma Eyelift. The most gentle option of the Plasma treatment improves the appearance of stubborn pigmentation and surface imperfections such as large pores, fine lines, and uneven skin tone. Besides being deeply exfoliating to restore glow to tired-looking complexions by allowing the younger and healthier-looking skin cells beneath to come through, the controlled pulses of plasma energy actually initiate cellular renewal and self-repair, giving you more youthful and supple-looking skin.

Plasma Skin Renew

This extremely efficient skin renewal treatment would not be considered inferior to the more familiar fractional ablative CO2 lasers, often touted as the gold standard of resurfacing procedures. By diminishing the appearance of unwanted blemishes such as age spots, sunspots, and any surface scarring, including deeper wrinkles, acne scars, old surgical scars and even stretch marks, Plasma Skin Renew can radically transform your complexion, especially when done over a series of 4 to 6 sessions with relatively low downtime. Visible results, including appreciable skin tightening and subtle lifting, are not transient, as clinical studies demonstrated long-lasting effects with intense fibroblast activity supporting continued neocollagenesis and reduced deposition of elastin material for more than 12 months post-treatment.

Plasma Perfection

Through months of trials, research and refining our protocols, we present the Plasma Pore Perfection treatment programme. We use a combination of pre-treatment and post-treatment products to prep and protect the skin, enabling the safe use of higher settings for better results. The treatments are tailored in accordance with the patients' skin type. Previously, Plasma treatments were limited by the protracted downtime that comes with higher settings therapy. This is no longer the case. With Plasma Perfection, one can expect better improvement to pore size, fine lines and wrinkles with every treatment. We recommend a series of 3 sessions, done at monthly intervals. Apart from skin smoothening and textural benefits, skin tightening and lifting are also more pronounced. In cases of acne scarring, especially when combined with Rejuran S micro injections, better treatment outcomes can be achieved.

Who is this treatment for?

Plasma treatments are generally suitable for those seeking non-surgical skin rejuvenation for concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, mild skin laxity, uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, dull or sun-damaged skin, and mild eye-area sagging (e.g. droopy eyelids or fine lines). It is often chosen by those who want collagen stimulation and skin tightening with minimal downtime. However, it may not be suitable for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin infections or inflammatory conditions, have very sensitive skin, a tendency to form keloid scars, or are prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. However, it is recommended to determine your condition and/or concerns through a personalised consultation with one of our experienced doctors here at Freia.

What to expect?

The treatment session is estimated to last from 30 to 45 minutes. Numbing cream is applied before the treatment, ensuring a comfortable experience with minimal to no discomfort. Some patients may experience slight redness for a few hours, but can resume normal activities almost immediately. If higher energy settings are used and your skin is particularly sensitive, some patients may experience slight redness and peeling for 1 to 3 days.

Recommended Post-Treatment care

It is important to avoid unnecessary sun exposure and be adequately protected with a broad spectrum sunscreen of SPF 50 or more to protect your skin during both the healing phase and for several months after treatment. When outdoors under direct sunlight, the use of sunglasses, an umbrella or a wide brimmed-hat should be considered for added protection.

Get your doctor to review and assess your usual skin care regime. Following treatment, harsh ingredients such as retinol and acidic products such as AHAs and BHAs, commonly found in many anti-aging products, should be laid off for at least a week. Your skin may feel dryer than usual, keep it well hydrated at all times with a good moisturizer. If you are using products to tone down the redness, opt for non-comedogenic mineral makeup which will allow your skin to breathe and prevent pores from clogging during the healing phase.
