How does Medlite C6 NdYag Laser work?
The Medlite C6 NdYag laser is a tried and tested treatment for sun-related hyperpigmentation such as freckles (ephelides) and sun spots (solar lentigines). Emitting gently yet effective laser energies that penetrate the skin, excess melanin will absorb the heat and be broken down into smaller particles. This will make the age or sun spot appear speckles. These smaller particles of melanin are recognized by the body as waste and over time, will rise to the skin’s surface and flake away. In addition, scavenger cells known as macrophages will remove any remnants as part of our body’s natural waste elimination process, leaving treated area(s) clear and smooth.
We have the carbon laser peel programme, which helps to smooth out fine lines, refine enlarged pores and achieve a more radiant, youthful complexion. These is no downtime for this treatment and regular carbon laser peeling helps maintain the best results.
What conditions can it treat?
Most pigmentation issues including acquired (appeared over the years) or congenital (from birth/very young) can be treated or at least improved on. Some pigmentation issues such as freckles and sunspots may be more responsive to treatment as compared to other pigmentation issues such as melasma. It is thus important that doctors diagnose the pigmentation issue correctly and use an appropriate treatment method for it.
Why choose this treatment?
Pigment lasers quick to do, safe and effective and have minimal side effects for most people. Our doctors will advise on which laser is best suited for your skin, and may even recommend combinations of lasers for the best results. Anyone with pigmentation issues can benefit from this treatment.
