Who Should Get the HPV Vaccine?
- Females:
- Recommended for girls 9-26 years old. Cervarix (2 strain vaccine) is given to Secondary 1 girls in Singapore
- Catch-up vaccination is recommended for females up to age 26 who were not adequately vaccinated earlier
- Even if you are out of this age group, you can consider getting the vaccine as well
- Males:
- No Singapore recommendation exists, but in countries such as Australia, both boys and girls are vaccinated in school
- Males may also be vaccinated, especially if they are at higher risk (e.g., men who have sex with men or those with weakened immune systems)

HPV Vaccination Schedule
- Two-Dose Schedule:
- For individuals starting the vaccination series before their 15th birthday:
- First dose: At a time chosen by the healthcare provider
- Second dose: 6-12 months after the first dose
- Three-Dose Schedule:
- For individuals starting the vaccination series on or after their 15th birthday and for those with weakened immune systems:
- First dose: At a time chosen by the healthcare provider
- Second dose: 1-2 months after the first dose
- Third dose: 6 months after the first dose
