The number of people sporting a tattoo has grown tremendously in the past decade. With many more design options, inking techniques and a shift in cultural norms, the number of tattoos, and proportionately, requests for tattoo removal or revision have gone up significantly.
With the advent of safe and effective lasers in the recent decade, laser tattoo removal has been shown to be a good option to consider. This is indicated for people who have either outgrown their tattoo designs, or have a desire to change the original design. The Medlite C6 laser is one such device that can effectively remove black and red ink tattoos. More challenging colours include green, yellow, blue. Whites are almost impossible to remove due to the nature of the ink.
Laser tattoo removal can be uncomfortable, but this is minimized by adequately applying numbing creams to the area, followed by careful cooling of the area to be treated. Always remember: slowly and gently so as to avoid scarring of the skin. The number of sessions needed depends on a few factors, such as ink type, colour, density, size, skin type, etc.
